Staff Picks

We really like pugs, and Wilson is one of our favorites. In this book, he tells us his story, with pictures, and introduces us to all of his friends -- including rabbits! He even goes shopping for books in a bookstore (which isn't our bookstore, but that's okay I guess). For anybody who likes dogs, this is one of those books that you have to have.

There was a time when I was just like Merle, except I was alone on a curbside and not wandering out of the woods. But that's okay, because Merle found a great home--just like me--and had a really cool life with Mr. Ted. Merle's Door is a bit sad, I have to tell you, but there are very few books about dogs' lives that make me as happy for how they lived than Merle's story. He's just a really cool dog.

Despite the author's last name, I really wish I could go visit this farm that Rose, the great and wonderful Herd dog works at. It sounds really neat, especially the bit about the farm mascot, Little Jesus. Anyway, if you love dogs -- like I do -- or if you just want a really good book about farm dogs and stuff then I think you will like the book from this Cats guy.

Want to know about dogs? DOGS ARE GREAT! Sure, there's more to know than that, but I just thought I should let you know, in case you didn't already. When I'm not working Security here at the store, I can always be found with The Kennel Club's guide. It has all the information about every breed of dog you know (and some you don't), and it's really good to chew on when you're bored. It's a great book for anybody who loves dogs.
