Wordsmiths Books presents Housewarming with Brock Clarke, author of An Arsonist's Guide to Writers' Homes in New England.
FREE! FREE!

Come join us on Monday, November 19th as Wordsmiths Books and co-sponsors Baby Got Books and The Wren's Nest welcome Brock Clarke, the bestselling author of An Arsonist's Guide to Writers' Homes in New England.

As a teenager, it was never Sam Pulsifer's intention to torch an American landmark, and he certainly never planned to kill two people in the blaze. To this day, he still wonders why that young couple was upstairs in bed in the Emily Dickinson House after hours.

After serving ten years in prison for his crime, Sam is determined to put the past behind him. He finishes college, begins a career, falls in love, gets married, has two adorable kids, and buys a home. His low-profile life is chugging along quite nicely until the past comes crashing through his front door.

As the homes of Robert Frost, Edith Wharton, Herman Melville, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and even a replica of Henry David Thoreau's cabin at Walden Pond, go up in smoke, Sam becomes the number one suspect. Finding the real culprit is the only way to clear his name--but sometimes there's a terrible price to pay for the truth.

An Arsonist's Guide to Writers' Homes in New England is a tour de force--a novel disguised as a memoir, a mystery that cloaks itself in humor, and an artful piece of literature that bites the hand that reads it.

Wordsmiths Books will be thematically appropriate, with a local band, drinks, food, and so much fun on this awesome night that we'll burn this place down...well, not literally.

The festivities are at Wordsmiths Books and start at 6:30 p.m. DJ Hacks from ResonatorMag.com will play some Hot Tunes before Brock's appearance, and Brock's presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. After Brock reads, local up-and-coming rock back Sealions will play a set. Sealions are shining, inventive indie-pop for a world of both darkness and hope. Sealions are, certainly, the band to finish setting this very special night at Wordsmiths Books on fire.

A thought for those attending: though this event, like all our events, is free and open to the public, we ask that you consider purchasing a book at the event. This helps enable us to continue to bring you the authors you love, and enables the author to continue writing while still being able to buy groceries.

Can't make it to the event? Order online from Wordsmiths Books, and we'll ship your signed book, or you can pick it up at the store after the event.

Be sure not to miss this special, FREE appearance by Brock Clarke!
