Come join us on Friday, September 28th as we welcome Amy Sedaris - comedic icon, hilarious wit, half of the (in)famous Talent Family.
Her turn as Jerri Blank on Comedy Central's cult favorite series-turned-film Strangers with Candy is impossibly memorable, as is her first book, Wigfield, a tongue-in-cheek razor-sharp spoof of small-town life, co-written with her Candy co-stars Paul Dinello and Stephen Colbert.
Her latest book, the beloved I Like You, is more than a cookbook, it's Amy's own guide to entertaining. Equal parts informatively funny and jaw-droppingly offensive in the best way possible, I Like You is the only book on entertaining you'll ever need. . .or want.
Come celebrate I Like You winning SIBA's "Best Cookbook of 2007" award on this awesome night with Amy.
This event is at the Decatur Recreation Center at 231 Sycamore Street. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. SHARP. Amy's presentation begins at 7:30, with the book signing to follow. Numbered tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis to organize the autographing aspect of the event. No tickets will be distributed before doors open.
A thought for those attending: though this event, like all our events, is free and open to the public, we ask that you consider purchasing a book at the event. This helps enable us to continue to bring you the authors you love, and enables the author to continue writing while still being able to buy groceries. If you've seen Amy's book, you know she buys a lot of groceries.
